Il CEnT-S è il test d’ingresso del CISIA erogato interamente in lingua inglese, richiesto da diverse università italiane per l’accesso a corsi di laurea tenuti in inglese in ambito ingegneristico, scientifico ed economico. Che cos’è il CEnT-SWhat the CEnT-S is

CEnT-S sta per CISIA English Test. È uno strumento di valutazione delle conoscenze e delle competenze di base necessarie per affrontare con successo un corso di laurea scientifico o tecnico in lingua inglese. A differenza dei TOLC in italiano, il CEnT-S è pensato per gli studenti — italiani e internazionali — che si iscrivono a percorsi erogati in inglese.CEnT-S stands for CISIA English Test. It assesses the basic knowledge and skills needed to successfully tackle a science or engineering degree taught in English. Unlike the Italian-language TOLC tests, the CEnT-S is designed for students — both Italian and international — enrolling in English-taught programmes.

A cosa serve e chi lo richiedeWhat it is for and who requires it

Il risultato del CEnT-S viene utilizzato dalle università per la selezione e/o per l’attribuzione degli Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi (OFA). È richiesto da diversi atenei italiani — ad esempio Politecnico di Milano, Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia e Università di Milano-Bicocca — per l’accesso a specifici corsi in inglese. Poiché l’elenco e le soglie cambiano ogni anno, verifica sempre i requisiti aggiornati sul sito del corso di laurea a cui sei interessato.CEnT-S results are used by universities for selection and/or to assign additional learning requirements (OFA). It is required by several Italian universities — for example Politecnico di Milano, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and University of Milano-Bicocca — for admission to specific English-taught programmes. Since the list and thresholds change every year, always check the up-to-date requirements on the website of the degree programme you are interested in.

Struttura del testTest structure

Il CEnT-S è composto da 55 domande suddivise in 5 sezioni, per una durata complessiva di 110 minuti. Ogni sezione ha un tempo limite indipendente: una volta scaduto, si passa alla sezione successiva e non è possibile tornare indietro.The CEnT-S consists of 55 questions split into 5 sections, for a total duration of 110 minutes. Each section has its own time limit: once it expires you move on to the next section and cannot go back.

Come funziona il punteggioHow scoring works

Il punteggio segue le regole standard dei test CISIA:Scoring follows the standard CISIA rules:

• +1 punto per ogni risposta corretta+1 point for each correct answer
• 0 punti per ogni risposta non data0 points for each unanswered question
• −0,25 punti per ogni risposta errata−0.25 points for each wrong answer

Il punteggio grezzo viene poi normalizzato tramite un coefficiente di difficoltà calcolato al termine di ogni periodo, in modo da rendere confrontabili prove diverse. La penalità per gli errori rende importante una strategia attenta: conviene rispondere “a caso” solo quando è possibile escludere una o più opzioni.The raw score is then normalised using a difficulty coefficient computed at the end of each period, so that different sittings are comparable. The penalty for wrong answers makes strategy important: guessing is only worthwhile when you can rule out one or more options.

Come e quando si svolgeHow and when it takes place

Il CEnT-S si prenota e si svolge tramite la piattaforma del CISIA, in più finestre distribuite durante l’anno (in sede o a distanza, secondo le modalità previste dal CISIA e dall’ateneo). I risultati vengono resi disponibili nell’Area Studente CISIA entro alcune scadenze fisse — tipicamente 30 gennaio, 31 marzo, 30 giugno e 30 ottobre. Controlla il calendario ufficiale per le date esatte della tua sessione.The CEnT-S is booked and taken through the CISIA platform, in several windows throughout the year (on site or remotely, depending on the arrangements set by CISIA and the university). Results are made available in the CISIA Student Area by fixed deadlines — typically 30 January, 31 March, 30 June and 30 October. Check the official calendar for the exact dates of your session.
